TO SAN DIEGO

Born and raised in Cosenza, Italy (located in the southern region of Calabria), brothers Dario and Pietro Gallo moved to San Diego in 2013 to open an authentic, yet contemporary Italian restaurant that features fresh flavors and a health-conscious menu. After collaborating with long-time Little Italy restauranteur Flavio Piromallo in 2015, the concept for Civico 1845 was born.

Like mama used to make, with modern flair. Our menu focuses on locally grown and seasonal ingredients. We believe in doing things the old fashioned way, whether that means making our pastas and breads from scratch, or cooking tomatoes for three hours to get the flavor just right. Our modern spin on Italian classics also features a number of vegan and gluten-free dishes.
